Former Port Vale player Jimmy Goodfellow passes away
Jimmy Goodfellow passes away: Former Port Vale midfielder Jimmy Goodfellow has passed away at the age of 76.
Goodfellow played for the Valiants for three years making 95 appearances and scoring eleven goals.
A late entrant into league football at the age of 23, Goodfellow was signed by Jackie Mudie from Bishops Auckland in 1966.
He fell out of favour when Sir Stanley Matthews took charge and was released in 1969. He had later playing spells with Workington and Rotherham United, making over 500 senior playing appearances.
After being released by Vale he subsequently moved into coaching and also managed Cardiff City in the 1980s.
