Port Vale’s Lorne Street stand set for major development this summer

Port Vale owner Carol Shanahan has told BBC Radio Stoke that there will be a major development for the unfinished half of the Lorne Street stand during the summer.

Shanahan has confirmed that the section will be fully seated in time for Vale’s eye-catching Robbie Williams homecoming concert in the summer.

The stand was initially started by former Chairman Bill Bell back in 1998 but to date has never been completed. Several Port Vale boards have promised to complete the stand but without doing so.

Some seating was installed in the incomplete section two seasons ago but the complete seating of the section will be a major move forward.

If the stand is to become fully operational there will also need to be work on the concourse, toilets, refreshment blocks and also the opening of the long-delayed Robbie Williams suite.
