Tensions high for Port Vale’s opponents as Newport manager slams players
Newport County manager Michael Flynn has had hard words for two players, including former Valiant Ryan Inniss, ahead of the game against Port Vale on Saturday.
Inniss is on loan from Crystal Palace but his future at Newport is in some doubt after just two appearances for the Welsh club.
The defender was sent-off during this week’s Football League Trophy loss to West Ham and is accused of biting his opponent. If found guilty, the player’s three match ban could be extended.
A clearly infuriated Flynn commented: “I am still waiting on the referee’s report, that’s it at the minute, there is not too much I can say on it. To be honest I didn’t want to waste too much time on Ryan at the minute.”
At the same time, forward Keanu Marsh-Brown has been told he has no future at the club after he failed to inform the club that he was departing on International duty.
Flynn told the media: “Keanu has gone away on international duty without telling me, he was given a letter to give to me, didn’t give it to me and he didn’t want to go out on loan, so I am not even considering about Keanu, he is right at the back of my mind.
“He is still a Newport player, but I haven’t got a clue where he has gone, I haven’t seen the letter.
“When he comes back… we will find out and try and get him out. I am really disappointed as you can tell. But I am not wasting my time on Keanu.”
