Port Vale manager pleased with addition of ball-playing centre-half
Port Vale manager John Askey says new signing Kieran Kennedy is a “footballing centre-half” and will add something “slightly different” to the Vale central defence.
Kennedy joined the Valiants on a one-year deal in June 2019.
Kieran is slightly different than we have got at the back. He is a footballing centre-half…
Speaking to the media, John Askey commented: “I am very pleased. Kieran is slightly different than we have got at the back. He is a footballing centre-half.
“But even though he is a footballing centre-half he is a quite a big lad and athletic and he will add competition to Leon and Nathan.
“I think he is a little bit better on the ball. I am not saying Nathan and Leon can’t play but I think Kieran has a little bit more composure.
“But it is up to the three of them to fight for a position.”
