This photo shows Northern Ireland forward Paul Millar in action. Millar had joined Vale in December 1988 for £20,000 but a knee injury had ruled him out until October 1989. This match was Vale’s home game against Wolves in March 1989. Millar scored his third Vale career goal in this match which the Valiants won 3-0. The other scorers were Darren Beckford and Robbie Earle and it was played in front of a crowd of 12,506. Millar would play for Vale until 1991 scoring five times in 44 appearances. He later had a spell with Cardiff City and has been a manager in Northern Irish football.
