Port Vale owner linked with Notts County bid
Port Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite is one of three bidders for Notts County, the Nottingham Post claims.
The League Two relegation contenders were put up for sale by current owner Alan Hardy.
Smurthwaite is in talks with Burslem-based Synectics Solutions to sell the Valiants and is reported as one of three interested parties to have made enquiries about County.
A South African consortium have been named as the favourites to complete a deal while another bid has come from Alex Way the former owner of investment firm Warwick Advisory.
Smurthwaite, who is also the owner of Nuneaton’s stadium wouldn’t be allowed to buy Notts County while he is still owner of Port Vale.
