Port Vale set to miss out on Northern Ireland striker?
Reports in Northern Ireland have indicated that Institute striker Michael McCrudden would prefer a move to Derry City over a move to Port Vale.
The Northern Irish media said Vale were one of a number of clubs to express an interest in Institute’s captain and top-scorer.
However, manager Paddy McLoughlin said: “I think if Michael has his heart set on full-time football then it will be difficult for us to stop him moving on and if a fee and terms are agreed he could move to Derry.
“Derry’s initial bid didn’t meet our valuation but I know talks were ongoing and from our perspective we will do all we can to keep him. He would be a huge loss to us.”
