Port Vale confirm midfielder exit
Port Vale have confirmed that loanee Lewis Hardcastle has left the club.
A Port Vale statement confirmed:
The club can confirm that Lewis Hardcastle has returned to Blackburn Rovers following a loan spell here at Vale Park.
Lewis made nine appearances in total for the Vale since arriving late in August.
We’d like to thank Lewis for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him all the best for the future.
Hardcastle joined the Valiants on loan in August in a deal which was set to last until the end of the season. However, the 20 year-old midfielder has made just nine appearances with just two starts in League Two and that lack of game time has clearly irked his parent club. Earlier this month, Rovers manager Tony Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph: “I think young Hardcastle will be coming back. His game-time has been pretty limited.”
Hardcastle joins fellow loanees Idris Kanu and Scott Quigley in being recalled early by his parent side due to lack of game time.
