Frustrated Port Vale midfielder says loss to Grimsby was horrible
Port Vale midfielder Tom Conlon says the team have been “frustrated” by their form fluctuations and defeat to Grimsby left a “horrible feeling.”
Vale lost 2-0 on Saturday after another poor display away from home. It means that Neil Aspin’s side have now lost two games in a row.
It was very frustrating. The way we conceded the goal very early on is never nice and we didn’t start very well, but once that happened we actually played some good stuff and had a few chances…
Conlon told the official Port Vale website that the only positive for him was getting another game under his belt after an injury-hit start to his Valiants career.
He commented: “Ninety minutes are key and to get another full game in is brilliant, but when you haven’t won it’s a horrible feeling. We just have to move on from that and we’ve got a game on Tuesday which we will give everything to win.

“It’s a game of football, we are all footballers and that’s what we love doing. We will want to react as quickly as we can so it doesn’t get much better than having a midweek fixture.
“We have a chance to put things right and it’s easy in football to forget how well you are doing. It’s a long season and there is going to be bumps along the way – we have just hit one at the moment but I’m sure everyone will do everything they can to bounce back.”
