Port Vale loanwatch: striker is on target once again
A summary of Port Vale players out on loan as striker Dior Angus finds the target for his side.
Angus on mark from spot
It’s been a much-changed Nuneaton line-up in recent days as the National League North side rang the changes. However, Vale loanee Dior Angus kept his place and scored a penalty in the side’s 3-1 defeat to Spennymore Town. It was the striker’s third goal while on loan. However, fellow Vale loanee, Mike Calveley was not involved in the game.
Lainton keeps good form going
Goalkeeper Rob Lainton was in goal again as Wrexham thrashed Ebbsfleet 4-1. The Port Vale keeper has now conceded just five goals in eleven games.
Barnett close to opening his account
Striker Tyrone Barnett was named in Cheltenham’s starting eleven for their League Two game against Crewe. According to the local press, he came close to opening the scoring but had a shot cleared off the line. He was subbed after 79 minutes.
Disappointment for Benns
It was a unhappy day for youngster Harry Benns as Stafford Rangers lost 4-1 to Buxton with the Vale winger named in the starting eleven.
Turner not involved
Injury-hit striker Dan Turner was not in action for Falkirk over the weekend. Falkirk lost the fixture 3-2 thanks to a “bizarre own-goal” from former Vale loan keeper Leo Fasan.
