Neil Aspin says Port Vale are looking to strengthen their squad
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin says he is looking to add new players this week to “strengthen” the squad.
Aspin told the media: “We are still looking to bring in players this week. We are looking to strengthen so will be looking to do that as quickly as possible.
“That’s not a result of Saturday. We can all get disappointed and there is no one gets more disappointed than me when you lose games. But Colchester away, knowing their strengths and what players they have, was always going to be a tough game.
“We would need to be at our maximum, at our very best, to get a result and we weren’t on Saturday.”
Striker Tom Pope is an injury worry and one of the areas that the club are looking to strengthen is the frontline.
Giant West Brom defender Kyle Howkins has also been a long-term Aspin target.
