Update: OVF contributions to Port Vale FC passes £35,000
Over the twenty-plus years of its existence, OVF has tried to put funds into Port Vale FC via sponsorships and competition prizes.
Calculations by Barry Edge, who operates OVF’s hugely popular “Guess the Crowd” competition show that the competition alone has purchased £28,000 in prizes from the Port Vale club shop.
Over the years we have given sponsorship funds to the Port Vale youth team, advertised in the matchday programme, sponsored players, matches and executive boxes. When all these additional purchases are added to the total, it means OVF has now put overs £35,000 into the club coffers.
In addition to financial support, OVF also curated the popular Vale Vaults memorabilia exhibition, organised for club legends Andy Jones and Darren Hughes to return to the club as guests of honour and organised a Help for Heroes night (to celebrate the return of two Vale fans from Afghanistan and which raised almost £1,000 for charity).
We will continue to support the club in future years while at the same time using our independent status to offer constructive criticism (both negative and positive) if and when it is needed.
In the meantime, Barry’s GTC competition will return next season and is FREE to enter for all registered users.
