Second injury blow for Vale as Howkins requires knee op
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin says impressive on loan defender has a knee problem that could flare up.
Howkins missed the defeat to Crawley and manager Aspin commented: “At the moment I think Kyle is going to have a problem with his knee. I think he will need to have a cartilage operation. That is why you could interview me on a Thursday and he could be all right but on a Friday he could be injured because his knee could swell up.
“He has this week where it can settle down and that will help, and I would expect that he can be in contention for Saturday’s game.”
Earlier this week it was announced that left-back Cristian Montano will miss the remainder of the season through injury.
