Michael Brown: we have to put the ball in the net
Michael Brown has told the media that his team need to start scoring goals after a run of four games without scoring.
Many fans have rounded on Brown for starting with just one recognised striker in Tom Pope and although Brown says runners from midfield are supporting the targetman, who is goalless so far this season, Vale have managed just six goals so far this season.
You break it down and look, but we have to put the ball in the net, that is the truth of it…
Brown is giving no clues to his formation against Coventry City on Saturday but the indications are that he will stick with Pope as a lone forward.
He told the media: “We watched the video about people running past Popey and runners and being up there. You break it down and look, but we have to put the ball in the net, that is the truth of it.”
