Michael Brown says his Port Vale side still have belief
Manager Michael Brown says his side “can perform on the weekend” as they prepare for a must-win game against Forest Green Rovers.
Brown told the media ahead of the game that: “The belief is in the squad. There are a couple who are fragile and you can see, maybe having not been in this situation before, especially not so early on in the season.
We need a win. We know that, we said it after the game. It is a day we certainly want to take the three points…
“I think the difficulty is it has come very early on in game two or three, after a disappointing 20 minutes against Wycombe to go three down.
“So, it has certainly become difficult very early at the club for some of these players. But they have to find their character and find their mettle. Especially the ones out of academies, this is real football now, it is a different scenario. But we have to go with the players that, possibly in the week, look a little bit brighter and that we believe can perform on the weekend.”
