Vale could look to free agents to boost weakened squad
The Sentinel reports that manager Michael Brown could add free agents to his Port Vale squad
After a disappointing January transfer window which saw the exits of Anthony Grant and Jak Alnwick, Vale’s squad has been depleted further with the injuries to Tyler Walker, Anthony De Freitas and most importantly Remie Streete.
The suspension of Kjell Knops now leaves Vale with one recognised central defender in Nathan Smith.
Brown told the Sentinel: “We have that possibility but again, are they going to be able to come straight in and play at the level of League One?
“That’s the difficulty. They might be able to come in and be a substitute and then have 30 minutes and you build them into the games. So, that is the difficulty we are finding at the moment with the players possibly out there.”
