JJ Hooper leaves Port Vale to join Northampton on loan
Striker JJ Hooper has linked up with former Port Vale manager Rob Page and joined Northampton Town on loan.
Hooper made his first starts for the Valiants under Page and scored five goals last season including three goals in five games in April.
The striker has had to play out of position in a wide role this season. Hooper’s departure means Vale have just three senior forwards in Anton Forrester, Rigino Cicilia and Alex Jones so fans will doubtless speculate that Hooper’s departure is because Vale have another forward signing lined-up.
A press release from Vale states:
We can today confirm that striker JJ Hooper has agreed to join Northampton Town on loan until January 2017.
The striker has had a medical at The Cobblers and has agreed terms; the deal is subject to approval from the EFL.
