Cautious Vale could leave Streete on the sidelines
Port Vale manager Rob Page says the club “can’t take any chances” with Remie Streete’s head injury and if there is any doubt about the player’s well-being, he will sit out the Southend game.
Streete was carried off during the Blackpool game on Tuesday and there was a ten minute delay while the defender received treatment.
Streete subsequently was able to watch the game from the stands and tweeted that he was fine but Page told the media: “There is a bit of confusion really about whether he was knocked out, but I think if there is any hesitation whatsoever then we have to err on the side of caution. We can’t take any chances from a medical point of view and if there is any hint that he lost consciousness then he will miss this weekend. We can’t take a gamble with that at all.”
If Streete is unable to make the game then Ryan McGivern is set to deputise.
