Vic Rouse player profile
Vic Rouse was an English left-half who was known for his “gentlemanly” play. He began his career in the Welsh non-league scene with spells for Llanelly and Pontypridd. He then had further spells with Wolverhampton Wanderers (1921-22), Stoke City (1922-25) and Swansea Town (1925-26).
The former Stoke City and Swansea Town captain was then signed by Valiants manager Joe Schofield in August 1926
He was a regular pick for three seasons (1926-27, 1927-28 and 1928-29) before losing his first-team place with the club in 1929. After totalling a hundred appearances for the Vale, he was released on a free transfer in May 1929. Rouse subsequently joined Crewe Alexandra for a two year stay before he ended his playing career in non-league football.
He had made just short of three hundred senior appearances and scored three goals during his ten year playing career. Rouse sadly passed away in 1961.
