Tim Rawlings player profile
Defender Tim Rawlings began his career at West Bromwich Albion in 1950 but failed to make a first-team appearance during a six year stay at the Hawthorns.
He moved on to neighbouring Walsall in 1956 where he made over 200 appearances and earned two consecutive promotions (in 1960 and 1961) during a seven year stay with the Saddlers.
The then 31 year-old defender was signed by Port Vale FC manager Freddie Steele for £4,000 in June 1963. He made 22 appearances during his first season with the club but only made fourteen in his second season as the Valiants were relegated from the Third Division.
He was released by the Valiants in the summer of 1965 after making a total of thirty six appearances (and scoring two goals) for the club. He later had a spell in non-league with Nuneaton Borough and Coleshill Town before retiring from playing.
