Neal injury boost for Vale
Port Vale have revealed that goalkeeper Chris Neal could return to the side by the end of August.
The club initially feared that the injury could be more serious but manager Rob Page told the Sentinel: “Chris has got a major problem with the ankle again, similar to what he had two years ago.
He’s out for the opening fixture but within a couple of weeks after that we will be pushing to get him back in…
“So it’s not going to be a quick turnaround. We are not talking months but we are talking weeks and it’s a blow for us but it gives other people an opportunity to get the jersey.

In Neal’s absence, Sam Johnson will start the season in goal with Ryan Boot as deputy.
