Arden Maddison player profile
Arden Maddison was a half-back who was signed by Port Vale following his release from their neighbours Stoke City in October 1924. He had made a solitary appearance for the Potters in the 1923-24 season before joining the Valiants.
Maddison was picked eight time in his first season at Port Vale – the 1924-25 campaign – and became a regular with thirty appearances in his second season. He scored his first goal for the Vale (against Notts County) in his third season for the club but he then suffered a collarbone injury and was released in May 1927.
After leaving the Valiants, he later joined Oldham Athletic, Mansfield Town, Burton Town and Prescott Cables. After a brief move to Nimes in the French Leagues in 1934 he then joined a number of other English non-league clubs including Gresley Rovers and Sutton Town. He finally ended his football playing career in 1937.
