Jake Speight was a pacy striker who was signed on loan by Port Vale manager Micky Adams on 29th October 2010. Speight was signed on loan from Bradford City.
The striker made his debut against Burton Albion and scored his only goal for the club in a 5-0 win over Stockport County. His loan spell was extended for a second month before he returned to his parent club.
Speight began his career at Sheffield United and had spells at Bury and Mansfield Town before joining Bradford City in 2010. After his Valiants spell he went on to have moves to Wrexham, a second spell at Mansfield Town and then moved into non-league football with spells at Alfreton, Harrogate and Kings Lynn Town. He finished his thirteen year playing career with a record of 66 goals from 252 appearances. He then became a player agent.
