Christian Hanson player profile:
Central defender Christian Hanson was at non-league Billingham Synthonia before he joined Port Vale on trial in December 2004 after a previous trial at Oxford United. He had already gained Football League experience after loan spells with Torquay United and Cambridge United while a Middlesbrough player.
He was signed by Martin Foyle’s Valiants side on a contract until the end of the season and went on to make five League appearances during the remainder of the 2004-2005 season.
He was released in the summer of 2005 and had a brief spell with Leyton Orient. He then moved back into non-league football with spells at Grays Athletic (with whom he won the FA Trophy in 2006), Gateshead, Spennymoor Town, a second spell with Billingham Symphonia and Whitby Town. He retired from playing in 2010.
