Calvin Andrew player profile:
Calvin Andrew was a powerful forward who joined Port Vale, initially on a short-term deal which was then extended until the end of the season.
An experienced striker, Andrew had previously had spells at Luton Town and Crystal Palace as well as several loan moves.
Although Andrew had been used as a central forward by other clubs and was initially seen as cover for targetman Tom Pope that proved to not be the case as he was often used on the wing. It meant he scored just once, against Torquay United. He played 24 times during Port Vale’s 2013 promotion campaign and was released at the end of the season.
After leaving Burslem, he later had spells with Mansfield Town and York City before he joined Rochdale where he made over two hundred appearances during a six year spell with the club.
