Vote: Pick your Port Vale attack?
With Vale looking short of ideas upfront, who would you select as the striking partnership for the Coventry game.
It’s widely expected that Rob Page will make changes for the game against Coventry. Our poll presumes a few things – it presumes that Vale will stick with two upfront, it presumes that Alex Nimely is still not fit enough to be considered and it presumes that Colin Daniel is not a contender to start.
So, with all that in mind, the contenders are:
Tom Pope – Vale’s talisman, but is he in form at the moment? Pope has managed just one goal in his last ten games but his fans would argue that he brings much more than mere goals to the side.
Ben Williamson – Very much a “marmite” figure at Vale, his critics claim he’ll never be a prolific threat while his supporters argue that his pace and power helps whoever he is paired alongside.
Louis Dodds – Perhaps an even more divisive player. On his day, Dodds has talent in abundance with intelligent passing and precision scoring but his critics would argue he simply has too many off-days. Arguably the best “link” player behind either Williamson or Pope.
Achille Campion – He’s certainly a favourite of a section of the Vale crowd albeit mainly because of a prolific spell against second-string sides for Vale reserves. However, after scoring against Bradford it’s a bit of a mystery while Campion hasn’t even made the bench in recent games.
Now, place your votes…
