Editorial note: Dicker has now joined Carlisle United on a two-year deal.
A popular football rumours website claim that Port Vale and Carlisle United are battling it out for the signature of former Crawley midfielder Gary Dicker.
The 25 year-old, who has previously played for Stockport and Brighton is also reportedly a target for Notts County.
Irishman Dicker was one of ten players released by Crawley Town at the end of the season after the Sussex club engaged on a cost-cutting exercise.
