Knott may be keen on Vale deal
Loanee Billy Knott has not ruled out the possibility of a permanent Port Vale move in the summer.
Knott will be out of contract in the summer and is probably realistic in believing he is unlikely to be handed another Sunderland contract.
Knott told the Sentinel: “I am out of contract at the end of the season, so I am trying to play as many games as I can and see what happens.
“I can’t close any doors. I don’t want Sunderland to go down, but if they do they might want a few of the younger lads to stay on, but we’ll see what happens.
“I have to train well and do well in every game to try to have the opportunity.”
Knott added that “Hopefully I will do well and have a few offers” before commenting that the Vale is “a great club.”
