Adams bemoans bad luck
Manager Micky Adams felt that there were plenty of positives to be gained from Vale’s defeat to Leyton Orient but the side “have not had the best of luck.”
I think they will admit they have been in a game, we just didn’t have the luck in front of goal that you need from time to time…
Vale had two goals disallowed as Orient ended up 2-0 winners at Vale Park. Adams commented: “When you lose games of football, which is going to happen, you want them to show enthusiasm and effort and I thought we had plenty of that.
“Also, we have not had the best of luck with any decisions that the referee had to make.”
“Right from the kick-off I thought we really unsettled them, got into their shorts and stopped them from playing.
“I think they will admit they have been in a game, we just didn’t have the luck in front of goal that you need from time to time, and their keeper played particularly well, especially in the second half.
“We are disappointed to come away with nothing, but we have given them a good game.”
