Chorley: Stevenage are ‘better’ than Valiants
Veteran Ben Chorley will be hoping his words don’t come back to haunt him after he claimed that his Stevenage teammates are “better” than their Vale counterparts.
It’s definitely a game we can win. I am more than confident. Individually we are better…
Stevenage travel to Vale Park on Saturday and centre-half Chorley is expected to make his first league start of the season after recovering from a long-term injury.
However, Chorley has raised the stakes with his comments telling the press that: “It’s definitely a game we can win. I am more than confident. Individually we are better. There is more experience in our changing room now. It’s a case of taking that responsibility and imposing our game on them.”
The defender added: “Any team can beat any team. I would like to think I can bring a bit of experience. I get on great with everyone. I put an arm around people that I think and try and give a bit of a volley to people who I think needs a volley. I’m just over the moon to be back involved and I want to win games.”
Meanwhile, if the Vale team require any extra motivation on Saturday, it may be worthwhile for the Vale coaching staff to print out Chorley’s words and place them in the home team dressing room.
