Ambitious Morsy targets International call-up
Midfielder Sam Morsy has set his sights on an International call-up from Egypt, he has told the Sentinel newspaper.
I’m certain promotion could help me no end with my international prospects…
Morsy qualifies for Egypt through his father and should he earn a full cap he would become only the fifteenth Vale player to be made an International whilst at the club.
The midfielder told the newspaper: “Egypt have an under-23s side and they’ve been speaking to my agent about it.
“They just want me to keep playing games and progressing for Port Vale at the moment, but I’m pretty sure that if I was playing in League One it might be a different story.
“I’m certain promotion could help me no end with my international prospects.
“They know all about me, apparently. Whether they’ve had representatives at games I don’t know, but their people certainly saw the game we played on Sky against Oxford earlier in the season.”
