OVF Digest #4: Third league title for Port Vale Deaf

In our latest weekly digest, we celebrate Port Vale Deaf who have won the league title for the third season running!

Our digest feature is a weekly article that rounds up a number of stories and communications that we’ve received…

OVF is not just about Port Vale, we are happy to promote all good causes, especially (but not exclusively) those which are Stoke-on-Trent or football related. If you want us to promote your good cause or event in our digest, please give us plenty of notice and email us at news@onevalefan.co.uk All suitable messages will be displayed in our weekly digest feature.

Third successive title for Port Vale Deaf!

Once again, the Port Vale Deaf DFC side continue their champion form. The talented fans outfit have finished league champions of the Staffordshire Ability Counts League for the third season in a row. In fact, Port Vale Deaf have never finished out of the top spot in their three year existence and their five-a-side team is currently top of the Fenton Manor 5-a-side league.

Port Vale Deaf currently play in seven-a-side and five-a-side leagues and player Shaun Sadlier told OVF: “At the moment, we got 17 players and we could  possibly move to Multi-Disability Football League, an eleven-a-side league for next season.”

If you’d like to join them, deaf players train in the Port Vale FC community building on Monday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.45pm. Everyone who qualifies for the relevant disability group is very welcome to come and train but do ring their office first on 01782 575594 to let the team know.

OVF Prediction League winner

Many congratulations to Geoff Seabridge, who was the winner of the 2011/2012 OVF Prediction League. We’ll be sending prizes to Geoff and also to the second and third placed players in the league – Carl and Michael. Join us later in the summer when the 2012/2013 OVF Prediction League kicks off…

Former players news

Yet more former Valiants have been given free transfers by their clubs. This week Rob Kozluk and Jennison Myrie-Williams joined the ranks of players looking for new teams. Good luck to both of them!
