Martin Foyle seeking Brooker replacement
Port Vale manager Martin Foyle has insisted he won’t be rushed into a panic signing to replace the departed Steve Brooker.
Foyle told the official Port Vale website that: “I’m trying to bring in a replacement but it is not as easy as people think.”
Any new signing may not arrive before the weekend clash with Colchester United. Foyle explained that “It’s not a 24 hour thing, it might be early next week… we’ll have to wait and see.”
Foyle also claimed that he wouldn’t be rushing into a replacement saying: “I’m not going to bring in anyone… it’s got to be right for the club.”
Meanwhile, new Bristol City signing Steve Brooker has been full of compliments over his time at Vale Park.
“I have really enjoyed my time at Port Vale,” Brooker told the Staffordshire Sentinel “It has been on and off with form and injuries, but the players have been great and I will always be grateful to Brian Horton for giving me my chance. ”
Brooker continued: “Martin Foyle has been sound since he came in and it has been a good time of my life. It was a matter of me wanting to better myself, but Port Vale has been a big platform for me.”
