John King was a veteran midfielder who played for Port Vale between 1968 and 1971. He made a total of 114 appearances before departing to join Wigan Athletic.

John King passes away: former wing-half who played over 100 times for Port Vale has sadly passed away at the age of 77.
Time at club: 1968-1971 Appearances: 115 Goals: 0 Comments: A defender who was signed from Tranmere Rovers. King was the captain of the 1969-1970 promotion winning side. He was released in 1971. More on this player:
