Port Vale supporter Bill Bell became a shareholder in 1984 and took over as Chairman in 1987. He was associated with the hugely successful John Rudge regime and also with the development of Vale Park into an all-seater stadium. However, he also took the club into administration in 2002. Bill Bell passed away in 2013.
