I'm not intelligent enough to suggest some better alternatives and I know Flores has experience here at Watford. But I'd be careful in appointing a foreign manager at this stage as foreign players can take some time to adjust to the English game. Stoke need a few fighters in their team [in the mould of Denis Smith] who will roll up their sleeves and chase everything. I'm not 100% sold on Flores but the salary is eye-watering!

When Mr Coates starts showing concern and starts helping the Vale then that's the day I will start worrying about Stoke.

Has Flores really achieved anything in his managerial career to warrant an appointment to a job reputedly paying millions of quid a year, same with Carvahal at Swansea. When he was appointed at the Swansea Sheff Wed were in the bottom half/third of the Championship if I'm not mistaken.

There's a pretty good chance Stoke will end up in the Championship if they appoint Flores, a better chance than if Hughes had stayed.

Just completed the Stokienel survey on Mark Hughes reign.

Picked Coventry for my favourite game, and Mick Mills as replacement

Looks like Flores has seen sense and told Stoke to stuff it.

Stoke City are apparently not as Attractive to potential Managers, as their supporters think they are ?

    Barcelona or North West England.....mmmmmmm

Easy job at Espanyol or relegation fight at Britannia.....mmmmmm

    Easy decision to my mind.

Better chance of survival with O'Neil and Keane IMHO.

Maybe he rang Hughes and asked him who has control of new signings cus I doubt it's the manager.
