Match thread: Carlisle v Port Vale

Well we have lost our brightest spark for four games but that opens the door for another .
Those who are going are fantastic in there support of Vale and i hope they are talking about the game and not the ref afterwards and hopefully we have some good fortune as its like all games crucial .
    My team
    Lainton
    Smith Gunning Anderson Pugh
    Kay Tonge
    Worrall Harness Denton
    Pope
    Wheres forrester ?
    Defrietas ?
    Wilson?
If wilson is not fit i believe Smith as played at right back for Torquay so put him there ,Pughs chance to get back in the side as a left back ,Gunning Anderson to head kick and throw themselves at everything .
Not bothered if Boot stays in as its down to those in front of him to not let players have free shots headers etc .
Be nice hear that we have won with a offside goal or two or a header from Pope whats given as a goal but didnt cross the line like it certainly did v two teams at home earlier in the season .

How's their pitch holding up after the midweek postponement?

They've given a low of Minus 2 in Carlisle tonight, with a high tomorrow afternoon of 2 degrees.

Tough game if it's on. Anything from this game is a bonus. Hope for a competent referee.

Carlisle racecourse has called an inspection tomorrow ahead of their meeting on Sunday, don't know how close that is to the football ground.

It's merely a sheepskin noseband away.

Michael Salisbury, not impartial to the odd red or two himself https://www.football-lineups.com/referee/2676/

As long as they have the covers on the pitch we should be ok, bit more difficult to put covers on a racecourse

Winnable they have a dire home record I believe (2 wins against Yeovil and Cheltenham).
