Going to the toilet during lessons

I teach year 2 and never let children go to the toilet during lessons
Would you have a problem if it was your child?

I teach years 7 to 13 and I always refuse the first request, just to weed out those who want to waste time by wandering about. On the second request (usually followed by cries of "but I'm desperate"), I let them go but they make up double at break / lunch time - so if they are gone for 5 minutes, they make up 10 minutes at break.

These are kids that are old enough to be able to plan out their day for themselves though. Yes, I would have a problem if that was being applied in Year 2.

I do remind them to go at playtime and lunchtime and always ask if anyone needs a wee as they enter the class again as the toilets are just outside my room.

This thread is taking the ****. Incidentally, I once suffered a diarrhoea related trauma at junior school. It was 1986. Things were different then. It was acceptable in the 80's. I was having sweet and sour chicken for dinner this evening but having contributed to this thread...
