Newport. Away moved to Friday night

Gutted. Traffic on a Friday afternoon will be horrific.
Hate rugby union as it is.!!

Already booked train tickets. Yet another example of a football club not caring a jot about its supporters.

    Angry Newport moved

Don't think anyone has started a thread on this yet but I notice that Newport County away has been moved from Saturday 11th November to the Friday night.

This is apparently because the egg chasers are playing a game 14 miles away against the Aussies. This is a fixture that has been planned since April yet only now have they decided that it's an issue.

I can understand that they were possibly hedging their bets, expecting the Welsh football team to be involved in a play off at some point that weekend, but at the very least something provisional should have gone out in order to stop people making travel arrangements for a game that was blatantly never going to go ahead at the date and time scheduled.

Bit of a poor show really from the black and ambers. Newport would have been a new ground for me.

Still just about possible to do on the train for me, although not much of a night out with a 5 hour round trip involved, then Newport vs Vale as the main course. Although it is a new ground and I've not done one yet this season in the league.

I'd booked accommodation in Newcastle last New Year's Eve to see the Newcastle Forest game - Vale had switched to the Friday. I didn't book until after Sky had announced the TV fixtures. Then four weeks before the game the Police decided that the game had to be switched to the Friday night as well because there was a "Winterfest" in the town that afternoon (arranged many months previously) and they didn't have the manpower to police both events.

Sky make no allowances at all for fans, inconveniencing them at the drop of a hat. On Sunday Newcastle will play their third consecutive late Sunday afternoon away fixture with the 652 mile round trip to Brighton for a 4.30 KO being the shortest trip!
