    European Cup Competitions 17/18

Well it's started disasterously for Rangers who suffered possibly their worst ever result getting knocked over two legs to a team of minows from Luxembourg in the Europa League.

Scotland will clearly be a one team league again next season.

As far as serious chances of progressing a long way in Europe, Scotland is a no team league.

After losing to actual part-timers, are their fans all still going on about how they'd breeze the PL?

Rangers lost to a Luxembourg team who were ranked two places below Prestatyn Town in the rankings?
I feel sorry for Jak Alnwick.

    Even better

He watched from the bench as per. Wonder if he's enjoying his time there? Worth the extra bit of money?

Good win for Oswestry based TNS in the Champions League Qualifiers, as they overcame a 2-1 1st leg deficit to win in Gibraltar against the home champions Europa. Now face a tougher proposition in the 2nd qualifier against Croatia's Rijeka.

Connah's Quay possibly hold Wales' best chance of progression to the 2nd Qualifying Round of the Europa League when they defend a 1 goal 1st leg lead in Finland against Helsinki. Bangor host Denmark's Lyngby hoping to overturn a 1-0 reverse, while Bala face possibly the toughest task when they visit Liechtenstein's Vaduz needing at least two goals following a 2-1 home defeat in Mid Wales last week. All matches tomorrow (Thursday). For anyone interested, Bangor's match is available live on S4C from 6.05pm.

Incidentally, Prestatyn have this year been promoted to the Welsh Premier League at the expense of near neighbours and ex Andy Jones' side Rhyl, setting up a local derby against Llandudno. Llandudno are managed by ex Tranmere player Alan Morgan, who made his league debut for Rovers against Vale in 1996.

Following Rangers' humiliating Europa League exit on Tuesday, Scott Tanser will be hoping to play some part of St Johnstone's 2nd leg match in Lithuania tonight (thursday) against home side Trakai. Trailing 2-1 from last week's 1st leg defeat in Perth, it would appear a tough ask. That then would leave Aberdeen as Scotland's only representative in the competition. The Dons do not enter the tournament until the 2nd Round, courtesy of finishing 2nd to last season's runaway SPL champions Celtic.
