Not the EPL but another poor display from Liverpool this evening to follow up that they put in against Plymouth. They've looked a bit leggy in the last few weeks and need to get back to how they were quickly with a massive game against United coming up on Sunday. I have to say that Nathan Redmond was an absolute handful all night with his pace and work-rate, and is a player that Klopp would do wonders with.

With that said I still expect Liverpool to go through. But they will need to raise their game massively if they're to beat United on their own turf this weekend.

Also, I think the Titanic could have turned quicker than Emre Can before it met it's demise. He has some quality, but in a team that plays the football Klopp likes to play he just slows everything down. Firmino needs to get his ponytail back asap too, he's been pants since he had his haircut!

I said earlier in the season Beechy that they wouldn't keep their intensity game up.So hard to do for a season in the PL but I thought they'd go beyond January.Spurs will go the same way.

They're having a bit of a lull as does every side, but a couple of games hardly proves you absolutely right. Southampton are a decent side at home with a few good players and if half your side are off their games then you'll come unstuck. As it was Liverpool could have easily lost by more than the one goal this evening, and I wouldn't bet against them putting in a performance at Anfield in a couple of weeks time and completely turning the tie on it's head.

Neither Spurs nor Liverpool have shown signs of not keeping performance levels up in the Prem.

Liverpool played a massively weakened team against Plymouth having carefully thought out their priorities. They then had a fair result for a 2-leg semi final in losing 1-0 at Southampton and are favourites to go through.

I would guess Klopp gave his priority to the Prem, followed by the EFL cup and decided not to risk injuries in the FA Cup. I don't like the FA Cup being degraded by Prem teams, but that is another argument, a different discussion.

We will see how it pans out, but if Liverpool and Spurs end up only having 2 competitions each to concern themselves with, with Manchester United having 4, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal all having 3 then it could be a very interesting finish to the season, intensity or not.

I think Liverpool also had one eye on the game this weekend against United, which is a massive game in regards to the title race. Liverpool still knocked it about nicely last night but didn't play with the same intensity in the final third. Personally I'd take a 0-1 loss with a return to Anfield to come and a win at Old Trafford all day long, so we'll see how it pans out. If Liverpool put in the same sort of somewhat lethargic performance against United this weekend then I'll start to be worried.

1-0 loss first leg no big deal..you'd expect Liverpool, if they play anything like they can to turn that round at Anfield.

Saints will come to regret those missed chances but Liverpool missed Mane big time last night.
