Port Vale suffer narrow friendly defeat to Blackpool
Port Vale lost their first friendly of the summer as they went down 1-0 to Blackpool at Vale Park.
Manager Neil Aspin included a trialist in his starting line-up but it was the visitors who took an early lead after five minutes. Nathan Delfounesco scoring despite claims of offside. Vale almost made an immediate reply but Hannant’s effort was cleared off the line. Dodds and Kay had further efforts.
In the second-half Blackpool almost doubled their advantage but Gnanduillet’s effort hit the post and although Vale had chances in the closing stages they were unable to force an equaliser.
