Port Vale pair are reportedly loaned to Nuneaton
According to a report on the Nuneaton Town FC website, Port Vale have loaned Dior Angus and Mike Calveley to the club.
Vale are closely associated with Nuneaton after Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite recently purchased the club’s ground and this move is no doubt associated with that connection.
Forward Angus was purchased from non-league Redditch United last season and was subsequently loaned to Tamworth before making the Vale first-team and scoring his first senior goal. Calveley has made a handful of first-team appearances since progressing through the junior ranks.
According to the Nuneaton website:
Dior Angus and Michael Calveley will make their Boro’ debuts tomorrow as the loan pair have received special dispensation to turnout at Liberty Way against Coventry City. Parent club, Port Vale, have approached the Football League for permission to loan the duo to the Boro’ on a longer term basis but have taken this temporary measure whilst they await clarification on the deal.

Surely this is sailing very close to the wind on the ruling about not being involved with more than one club – or would the blue blimp has us believe that it is just ‘conincidence’ that these players are going to Nuneaton rather than, say, Rhyl or somewhere.
In any event, Dior Angus may well be needed at some point so it is not good news to loan him out long-term.
