Rumour: Port Vale “sign” striker, another on radar
Port Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite says one move is “over the line” with another player in negotiations.
Vale are keen to add more forwards to their squad and made bids for Kristian Dennis of Chesterfield who opted to move to Notts County.
Smurthwaite told the Sentinel newspaper that: “We have a kid that Neil was keen on before Dennis came on the scene and I understand he came to look at the stadium last week. I believe he is over the line and that has cost us a fee.”
He added: “We have inquired about a kid, another striker who is in non-league, with a fee involved. We have triggered the request for the release. We have met the demand of the club, now Neil has to meet the demand of the player, that is all I can tell you about that.”
