Port Vale owner doesn’t anticipate selling club this season
Port Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite says talks with a potential buyer of the club have broken down.
Smurthwaite claimed he was in talks with a buyer this summer but he told the Sentinel newspaper: “There was dialogue taking place up until last week. They were happy to meet the asking price, but they wanted to spread the payments over five years which I wasn’t happy to do.
“So, that conversation has now ceased and I don’t anticipate any other conversations in the coming season with anybody buying Port Vale.”

What an utterly bizarre thing to say “I don’t anticipate any other conversations in the coming season with anybody buying Port Vale”.
What does that mean? It’s not for sale? He actually knows no one is going to look to buy the club? He doesn’t want bids? He knows it’s over-priced?
Is there no end to this bloke’s nonsense?

The chairman is a total embarressment to our club.
He now says that interest in the purchase of Port Vale is now dead, was it true or just fairy tale.
This statement comes a day after his interest in Nuneaton FC.
Mind games Mr Chairman
