Midfielder Chris Regis set to leave Vale Park
Port Vale manager Neil Aspin says that midfielder Chris Regis has been allowed to train with other clubs as his Vale contract draws to an end.
The midfielder joined the Valiants in November and made an instant impact with a goalscoring debut in the Football League Trophy.
We weren’t in a position to offer him anything concrete, I felt it was better he could go and train with somebody closer to home…
However, Aspin questioned the player’s attitude saying “his attitude and everything outside of the football has not been good enough” and Regis subsequently only made one more appearance for the club.
Aspin told the media on Thursday that: “I had a chat with Chris the other week. We are in a situation where he only signed a contract which ends in April and, because we weren’t in a position to offer him anything concrete, I felt it was better he could go and train with somebody closer to home.”
