Aspin: we could have won both games against Grimsby and Barnet
Manager Neil Aspin says his side could have picked up six points over the last few days but he is happy that his side were undefeated.
Vale secured their second 1-1 draw in succession as they followed up Saturday’s draw with Grimsby with a 1-1 draw at Barnet on Tuesday evening.

The Port Vale manager commented: “The last two games have pleased me because, although we haven’t won them, I feel we could have won them both and they were games we couldn’t afford to lose, both away from home. There are no easy games anyway and away from home any point is difficult to get.”
Commenting on the Barnet game he added: “It was a very good point because, with our respective positions in the division, it was one of those games that you can’t afford to lose.
“After going a goal behind, and making the worst possible start, I thought we dominated the first half. I thought we played some good football and passed the ball well. We probably could have done with having a little bit more in terms of a goal threat but our play in the first half was good.”
The point has moved Vale into 18th place in the table, seven points clear of the dropzone with ten games left to play.
