Watch: Hannant says fans are right to be angry and players must make them happy
Midfielder Luke Hannant says it’s down to the Vale team to keep the supporters happy.
The midfielder commented: “It’s never nice coming back from a 5-1 loss in general, but every game until the end of the season big and we need to go into every one as if it’s the final match of the season – we need three points.
The supporters have got every right to be annoyed with the games we haven’t won – it’s down to us now to keep them happy and get points on the board in League Two…
“We have got to put that loss to the back of our minds and go into Tuesday’s game fresh. This squad, from what I have seen, is better than any other I have played in before.
“It’s a big squad and there is quality throughout in every position, but the supporters have got every right to be annoyed with the games we haven’t won – it’s down to us now to keep them happy and get points on the board in League Two.
“I have played under the gaffer before and he has got the right mentality to get the boys together. He is someone I respect and I know the lads do as well, it’s in the team that we want to do well for him and the fans as well.”
On his
“I have got experienced lads around me like Michael Tonge, Antony Kay and Danny Pugh and I think they have helped me into the team, but I am a player who plays with no fear.
“I think that I have settled in well and the lads have been nice to me, sometimes it’s hard when you have a new lad come in and he gets straight into the team, but the boys have been great to me here,” he said.
“I believe I have played well since I have been in the team and I am now concentrating on getting three points in the next game. It’s always nice to get a run of games and i’m thankful for the gaffer giving me the opportunity – I think I have taken it well.
“When I first came in I thought the tempo was quite quick, but now I have played a few games, I have adapted to that and the quality of the game. It’s just a case of getting more matches under my belt and hopefully I can progress.”
