Manager Neil Aspin admitted that the match against Newport County was a “scrappy game” and the side are “desperate for a win.”
Vale created few chances as they drew 0-0 on Saturday and now face two crucial matches against fellow strugglers Barnet and Grimsby Town.

“It was a scrappy game. There wasn’t a lot of quality in the game. From our point of view we didn’t make enough chances.
“We are desperate to get a win and I think that desperation showed at times.
“So I’ll have to take the point. We’ve got some big games coming up and we’ve got to win some of those games.”
