Where are they now: Jordan Slew
The striker has had something of a journeyman career since his brief spell at Vale Park…
Prior to Vale
Slew rose to prominence after rising through the Sheff Utd youth ranks to make the first-team. He was snapped up by Premier League Blackburn Rovers for £1m in 2011.
His Vale spell
Signed by Micky Adams, who had managed him at Sheff Utd, in the summer of 2014 Slew scored his first goal in September but after getting a red card against Fleetwood he rarely made the first-team again. He returned to Blackburn in January 2015.
Post Vale
Soon after departing Vale, Slew left Blackburn to join Cambridge on an 18 month contract. However, the spell was not a success and he left the club with six months remaining on the deal. He then had a brief spell with Chesterfield before he signed for Plymouth Argyle when he enjoyed reasonable success with six goals as Argyle won promotion. He then had a spell with Rochdale before dropping out of the league to join current club Chester where he lines up alongside former Valiants John McCombe and Kingsley James.
